Energy Audits and Retro-Commissioning for New York City-Owned Buildings

Loring, in association with the NYC DCAS, performed energy audits, retro-commissioning, and operations and maintenance surveys for over 400 buildings, including laboratories, schools, offices, courthouses, libraries, recreational facilities, family residences, police precincts, DSNY garage buildings, and juvenile detention centers. Notable buildings include: New York City Hall, Manhattan Municipal Building, Tweed Courthouse, Surrogate’s Courthouse, Bronx County Hall of Justice, Office of Chief Medical Examiner, Queens Central Library, NYPD Headquarters, and NYPD Police Academy. Similar work for the campuses includes Central Park and Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The purpose of these studies was to identify energy conservation, retro-commissioning, and operations and maintenance measures as per the requirements of NYC Local Law 87 (LL87), under NYCs Greener, Greater Buildings Plan (PlaNYC) and New York Executive Order 111. Loring provided services for a combined area of all the buildings at over 60 million square feet.
