This award recognizes engineering firms for work that showcases exceptional innovation, complexity, achievement, and value. Being listed among the recipients highlights Loring’s outstanding achievements in engineering and our unwavering commitment to excellence.

The Michigan State Capitol, a magnificent National Historic Landmark renowned for its artistic value and rich historic fabric, recently underwent a complete mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) system upgrade. Our expertise in integrating modern MEP systems into historical buildings played a crucial role in our ability to revitalize and modernize the Capitol’s infrastructure while preserving its historical significance. The project also featured the creation of an unobtrusive new, below-grade central utility plant that harnesses carbon-free geothermal energy, ensuring year-round heating and cooling for the Capitol building and its 40,000-SF underground visitor’s center, known as Heritage Hall.
