Barry L. Maltz, PE, CFPS, LEED AP
Barry Maltz began his career at Loring 47 years ago as a part-time summer draftsman, and has held virtually every position in the company, eventually taking the helm as Chairman/CEO in 2009. In addition to setting the general direction of the firm, Barry manages the quality assurance program, serves as primary contact for corporate and professional contractual and legal issues, and takes a key role in mentoring young engineers from the time they receive their degree, and often even before. Among his top objectives is maintaining Loring's unique culture where every opportunity is open to every employee at every level, where principals are truly hands on, involved in the day to day details of every project, and where great people work on world class projects for interesting clients.
Barry is a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and a Master of Engineering Management from the Polytechnic Institute of New York (now NYU Tandon School of Engineering). He is licensed in NY, NJ, CT, and 13 other states as well as the District of Columbia. Barry serves on the Public Buildings Committee of the New York Building Congress. He is also active with ACEC New York, as a member of its NYC SCA Industry Liaison Committee and as a current member and former Chair of the Metro Region Electrical Codes Committee. Traveling, spending time with family, reading and woodworking occupy his time outside of work.
